Corner Peach Restaurant Overview

802 Somerset St W, Ottawa, ON K1R 7J9

Corner Peach is one of those places that feels slightly tucked away, even though it sits in Chinatown. If you’re not specifically looking for it, you could easily walk past without realizing what’s inside. And that’s part of its charm.

Street parking is your only option, so depending on the time of day, you may need to circle the block a bit. That said, once you get in, it’s clear why people make the effort. During our visit, every table was filled. It was busy from start to finish — and understandably so.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It feels polished but not pretentious. The service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. Staff were knowledgeable and genuinely seemed excited about the food they were serving.

One of the most exciting aspects of Corner Peach is that the menu changes frequently. That constant rotation keeps things interesting. Instead of ordering the same thing every visit, you’re encouraged to explore what’s new. It makes dining here feel dynamic rather than predictable.

You don’t come here for a quick, transactional meal. You come here to enjoy thoughtful cooking in a cozy setting that feels both intimate and lively at the same time.

Would return? Yes and looking forward to it.

Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts

Order Again? No.

The Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts from Corner Peach were a strong start to the meal.

At the end of the day, they are still brussel sprouts — so if you don’t like brussel sprouts, this dish won’t convert you. But if you do enjoy them, these were very well executed.

They were cooked beautifully, with a crisp exterior and tender interior. The seasoning enhanced their natural nuttiness without overpowering them.

That said, they were a bit pricey for brussel sprouts. You’re paying for technique and presentation here, not just the vegetable itself.

Overall, enjoyable and well done — just slightly expensive for what it is.

Braised Lamb Shank

Order Again? Yes.

The Braised Lamb Shank from Corner Peach was the standout dish of the night.

It was incredibly tender — so tender that you genuinely did not need a knife. A spoon or fork was enough to pull the meat cleanly off the bone. That level of tenderness only comes from proper braising and patience.

The flavour was deep and rich without being overly heavy. The sauce tied everything together beautifully, coating the lamb and mashed potatoes with savoury intensity.

The mashed potatoes were excellent — creamy, smooth, and indulgent. They provided the perfect base for the sauce.

The addition of radish, pistachio, and mint brought contrast and freshness, preventing the dish from feeling one-dimensional.

This is the kind of plate that feels carefully constructed. Every component had purpose, and nothing felt like an afterthought.

Fries

Order Again? Yes.

The Fries from Corner Peach were surprisingly one of the highlights.

We asked for them to be extra crispy, and they delivered exactly that — not overdone, not dried out, but properly crisp with a satisfying crunch.

The texture was spot on. Golden on the outside, fluffy inside. These were the kind of fries you keep reaching for even after telling yourself you’re done.

They were so good that I’d honestly consider coming back specifically for them.

It may seem simple, but perfectly executed fries are harder to find than they should be — and Corner Peach nailed it.

The Experience

What makes Corner Peach special isn’t just individual dishes — it’s the overall experience.

The constantly changing menu keeps things fresh and encourages repeat visits. The staff elevate the meal with knowledgeable and attentive service. The atmosphere strikes a balance between cozy and energetic.

Even though it’s somewhat hidden in Chinatown and requires street parking, the restaurant is consistently busy for a reason. The combination of thoughtful cooking, solid execution, and strong hospitality makes it stand out.

There’s a sense that care goes into every plate that leaves the kitchen.

Final Thoughts

Corner Peach is one of those restaurants that reminds you why dining out can still feel exciting.

The Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts were well prepared, though slightly pricey. The Braised Lamb Shank was outstanding — deeply flavourful and impossibly tender. The Fries were exceptional and worth returning for on their own.

Between the frequently changing menu, great service, and packed dining room, it’s clear this spot has built a strong following — and for good reason.

If you’re willing to find street parking and step into a restaurant that feels a little tucked away, you’ll be rewarded with carefully executed dishes and a memorable meal.

Corner Peach is absolutely worth the visit.
